                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY
                   CLOSURE OF VARIOUS STREETS IN THE DOWNTOWN
                   AREA MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN ON
                   SUNDAY, APRIL 21, 1991 FROM 1:30 P.M. TO
                   5:00 P.M. FOR THE PRESENTATION OF "EARTH DAY
                   DOWNTOWN" UNDER THE SPONSORSHIP OF THE
                   CHATTANOOGA NATURE CENTER AND THE DOWNTOWN
                   MERCHANTS AND BUSINESS ASSOCIATION UNDER
                   CERTAIN CONDITIONS.
                  
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby authorized 
the
       temporary closing of Broad Street from 2nd Street to M. L. King
       Boulevard; Market Street from 2nd Street to M. L. King Boulevard; 

       3rd Street from Cherry Street to Market Street; 5th Street from
       Cherry Street to Market Street; 6th Street from Cherry Street to
       Market Street; 7th Street from Cherry Street to Market Street and 

       8th Street from Cherry Street to Market Street on Sunday, April
       21, 1991 from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the presentation of
       "Earth Day Downtown" under the sponsorship of the Chattanooga
       Nature Center and the Downtown Merchants and Business Association 

       provided that the sponsors shall set out and pick up all flasher
       barricades, traffic cones, and traffic signs in accordance with
       the traffic control plan attached hereto and shall provide, at 
all
       times, an access lane for fire and other emergency vehicles.
